Midostaurin for acute myeloid keukaemia (AML)
Midostaurin for acute myeloid keukaemia (AML)
Treatment for AML can be divided into three stages: induction (to get AML under control), consolidation (to keep AML under control) and maintenance (to reduce the risk of AML coming back). Midostaurin can be used alongside chemotherapy for induction and consolidation, or on its own as a maintenance therapy. We cover what midostaurin is, who might have it and how to have it. We also cover its main side effects and any special precautions you may need to take while you’re on it.
