Leukaemia Matters - Spring 2023
Leukaemia Matters - Spring 2023
This is our first edition of 2023, and we hope it’ll put a spring in your step! With the new year, it’s time to turn over a new leaf (or page in this instance!) to see what we have in store for this edition, our plans for the year ahead and how we aim to continue supporting you.
Our campaign #LeukaemiaLevy launched on the 1st March to help raise awareness of the financial hardship that comes with a leukaemia diagnosis, as well as calling for better government support for those affected. Our Left to #WatchWaitWorry campaign has also returned this year to spread awareness of active monitoring and strive for better support for these patients.
We spoke to Heidi, who shared her story from her acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) diagnosis to now, and how the Cost of Living crisis has been impacting her and her young family. We also caught up with mother Leanne, whose daughter Summer was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in 2019.
Elsewhere in this edition, we have plenty of informative articles on topics such as the importance of having a Will and all leukaemia updates we received from the American Society of Hematology (ASH) conference our CEO Zack Pemberton-Whiteley attended last year.
Remember, we’re here to support you during these difficult times. If you need
support, just call 08088 010 444 every weekday, or email support@leukaemiacare.org.uk
Please note - this is a digital download only and you will not receive a hardcopy through the post unless you opt into our communications.
