Leukaemia Matters - Autumn 2022
Leukaemia Matters - Autumn 2022
September marks Blood Cancer Awareness Month and we’re back with our Spot Leukaemia campaign raising awareness of leukaemia and its symptoms. Find out how you can get involved in this year’s activities on page 10.
As always, we’ll provide you with all the most recent updates on your leukaemia or associated blood cancer as well as updates we received from The European Hematology Association (EHA) conference in early June.
On page 9, we caught up with Robert, an acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) patient who originally believed his symptoms were down to long COVID, as he tells us more about his journey to remission. We also caught up with Tasneem, whose son Yusuf was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) back in 2019 on page 16, as they continue to navigate through life with a blood cancer.
Lastly in this issue, we welcome our new poet-in-residence Jamie Woods on page 19, who hopes his new role will help others deal with their own cancer journey through writing.
