Leukaemia Matters - Winter 2022

In this issue, we look back at the year and all we have accomplished, whether that be our campaigns, the achievements of our fundraisers or the continued hard work of our volunteers. Elsewhere in this issue, we explore the common phenomenon ‘chemo brain,’ what it is and how to manage this late effect of chemotherapy.

We also delve into ways of coping with grief during the festive period and bring you the latest updates on schemes, grants and loans that may help you during the colder, darker months.

We also caught up with Rob, who tells us more about his Richter’s non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma transformation from chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) after being diagnosed on Christmas Eve in 2012. We also caught up with Derek, who also tells us about his acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) diagnosis and how our Ann Ashley Counselling Fund helped him come to terms with it. 

Finally, we look ahead to what we have in store in 2023 (and what an exciting year we have to look forward to!) and all the incredible opportunities you can get involved with.
