Down's Syndrome and Leukaemia

Adults and children with Down’s syndrome prefer to be referred to as "a person with Down’s syndrome" rather than "a Down’s person" or "a Down’s" as they are individuals first and foremost. Down’s syndrome (DS) can increase the risk of a wide range of medical problems, including leukaemia.
